Disaster – A word that brings fear, anxiety, stress and a feeling of hopelessness to those it affects. The American Red Cross responds to disasters everyday. It is our job to calm the fears, relieve the stress and anxiety and restore hope to clients as we help them rebuild their lives.

Whether it is a flood, fire, tornado, hurricane or terrorist attack, you will find members of the American Red Cross, on the scene assisting our clients with shelter, food, clothing and other items that will help restore their lives to back to some normalcy.

There are many opportunities to volunteer in local disaster services. From responding to a fire, flood or other disaster, to working in the office in a support function, to fundraising, all of these roles are vital and needed to provide the best service possible to those affected by disaster.

If you are interested in volunteering, WE NEED YOU!

Unpaid internships are also available.
