Disaster Services
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red  Crescent Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Services to Armed Forces (SAF)
The Red Cross mission is to keep the American people in touch with their family members serving in the armed forces. To accomplish this work, Red Cross workers frequently deploy on assignment with military forces to keep the communication link operational around the clock and around the globe. Other Red Cross services are made available to military personnel on an as needed basis just as they are in the civilian communities.  Read more-->

Health & Safety
Americans have counted on the Red Cross for more than a century to provide the information, skills and the training needed to be safe at home, work, school and play.  Read more-->

Volunteer
There are many opportunities to volunteer in local disaster services. From responding to a fire, flood or other disaster, to working in the office in a support function, to fundraising, all of these roles are vital and needed to provide the best service possible to those affected by disaster.  Read more-->

Blood Services
Blood is a vital part of the community’s health and is needed every day to help patients. It has a limited shelf life of only 42 days and consistent donations are needed to replenish supplies. The need for blood doesn’t take a summer vacation!  Read more-->

Youth Services
There are many opportunities for young people under the age of 18 to become involved in the Dutchess County Chapter. Consider giving your time to help with a special project or a community event.  Read more-->

Safe and Well
The Red Cross Safe and Well Web site is operating to assist those who have not yet reached loved ones. Evacuation orders usually require residents to flee quickly, leaving little time to gather important materials or communicate with friends and family before seeking shelter in a safer location. Connecting with loved ones is as important as food, water and safe shelter.  Read more-->
